When you first receive your Ledger hardware wallet, ensure the box is sealed and genuine. Visit Ledger.com/start to download Ledger Live, the official app that connects your device to the blockchain ecosystem. Follow on-screen instructions to initialize your wallet and create a secure PIN code.
During setup, you’ll be shown a 24-word recovery phrase. This phrase is the ultimate key to your crypto. Write it down on paper and store it in a safe, offline location. Never share it online or take a photo of it — anyone with this phrase can access your assets.
Ledger Live is the control center for your digital assets. You can check balances, send or receive crypto, and manage accounts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and thousands of tokens. The interface is beginner-friendly, yet powerful enough for advanced users who demand transparency and security.
Ledger Live also integrates staking and buying features, allowing you to grow your holdings while maintaining full control over your private keys.
